Request a Saddle
If you can't find the specific second-hand saddle you're looking for, our Request a Saddle service allows our expert team to scour our extensive network to find you the perfect saddle and ensure the best fit for you and your horse.
Choosing the right jump saddle is crucial. Modern jump saddles come with extras like knee and thigh blocks and various flap sizes, but it’s important to consider three main variables before making your purchase:
Consider your horse’s conformation and ensure the saddle size fits both horse and rider to avoid pressure points; an incorrect seat size can unbalance the rider or cause discomfort for the horse. Flap length and width are also essential, especially in line with how short you have your stirrups. If the flap isn't the right size, your knee may overlap the saddle flap and become uncomfortable.
For added security over fences, jump saddles often come with supportive extras such as knee blocks. Some riders, however, might feel restricted by these features, so please ensure any extras are suitable for your needs before purchasing.
